Postdoc Appreciation Day at FRIAS

On 20 September, the University of Freiburg honours the work of scientists in early career phases with the Postdoc Appreciation Day. FRIAS is among those involved in this multifaceted programme.

This year, for the first time, the University of Freiburg is taking part in the national Postdoc Appreciation Week from 18 to 22 September. The event will honour the work of postdocs, junior research group leaders and junior/tenure track professors from all disciplines in research and teaching.

On 20 September (from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.), there will be a variety of activities and events at the University of Freiburg, including topics such as AI tools in science, acquiring third-party funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG) and lab tours at the Freiburg livmats and CIBSS clusters of excellence. Exchanges with other postdocs from Freiburg and career talks with established scientists round off the programme.

All interested scientists are invited to a bicycle tour to the FRIAS building at Albertstraße 19 starting at 3:30 pm. There, the workshop "Science Communication, Leadership Workshops and more - How does the University support our Postdocs?" will take place from 4 to 5 pm. The event is organised by the Young Academy for Sustainability Research (YAS) and the Department of Equality, Diversity and Academic Personnel Development at the University of Freiburg.

Children are also welcome to come along.
