Rethinking the Middle Ages
This project is run by members of the Centre for Medieval Studies (MAZ), and we aim to prepare an application for a DFG-funded Graduiertenkolleg. We approach medieval cultural forms – texts, artifacts, and practices – from a broad and interdisciplinary perspective that goes beyond narrow European-centered ideas, and in doing so also engage critically with the history of the various disciplines devoted to medieval studies. We are going to organize a lunchtime lecture series at FRIAS in 2023 as well as two workshops.
