Further details

FRESCO is the Freiburg Research Collaboration Program via which the University of Freiburg intends to establish long lasting, sustainable links between excellent researchers from Freiburg and high-ranking national and international researchers to substantially strengthen and develop existing profile and emerging fields and thereby enhance the University of Freiburg’s overall research profile.

FRESCO offers the opportunity to the Freiburg faculty of nominating top international researchers as external fellows for an extended period. The programme is designed to promote the establishment of new long-term collaborations or the strengthening of existing collaborations by supporting the exchange of expertise and technologies between excellent researchers.

FRESCO is managed by the university’s international research college FRIAS, the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies.

The programme is aimed at:

  • Excellent national and international scientists who want to collaborate with Freiburg researchers of existing profile and emerging fields (https://www.uni-freiburg.de/forschung-en/research-profile) by spending up to a maximum of 10 months over a period of three to four subsequent years in Freiburg.

Accommodation is available through the university guest house and additional centrally located apartments.
