FRIAS Conferences

FRIAS funds conferences held by early career academics at the University of Freiburg, drawing on the successful model set by the School of Language & Literature, which held an annual conference competition for early career researchers and thereby supported the organisation of 13 conferences between 2008 and 2012.

The call for applications is aimed at doctoral students, postdocs and mid-level faculty members on temporary positions from all disciplines within the University of Freiburg. Funding is awarded to the best and most innovative concepts for an academic conference covering a relevant, up-to-date field within the humanities, social, behavioural and natural sciences or medicine. The successful research groups are invited to organise their conferences within FRIAS. Up to14,000 euros of financing is available for each conference.
