Reception

The public lecture and the – non-public – workshop address an audience with an interest in the global and imperial history of science and knowledge, especially, but not exclusively, of Spain, Latin America and the Caribbean.

8:30 am to 1:00 pm: Workshop with Professor Juan Pimentel

During the workshop, we will discuss follow-up readings related to Juan Pimentel's lecture and general theoretical & methodological problems pertaining to a global history of science.  

HOW TO APPLY:

Ph.D. candidates and PostDocs interested in the programme may send their applications including a CV and a brief statement of interest of no more than 500 words via email to Professor Jürgen Osterhammel (juergen.osterhammel@frias.uni-freiburg.de) by 15 March 2024.

Accommodation costs (one night, on special application two nights) and travel expenses to and from Freiburg will be covered by the Balzan-FRIAS programme.
