Fellows with external funding

FRIAS offers fellowships for scientists with own funding for uninterrupted research visits of more than two months. FRIAS provides a fully equipped working desk at the Institute and additional support for the research work as well as a very stimulating intellectual atmosphere. In return at least an 80% presence at FRIAS, participation in the academic programme, and, more generally, a willingness to engage in an exchange with the FRIAS community is expected.

In order to apply for a fellowship a motivation letter (stating the reason for choosing FRIAS and the envisioned period), a current CV and a short description of the project is needed.

Please note that most FRIAS activities fall within the period from October to July.

The complete application should be provided in the form of one single PDF-file at least 4 months before the envisioned research period at FRIAS.

Applications should be directed to Dr. Britta Küst (, who will also be happy to answer any additional questions. Applicants can expect a response within six weeks after the application.
