Round Table Discussion - Introducing the Environmental Humanities as a “New Interdisciplinary Matrix”: What, Why, and How?

Around the globe, interdisciplinary research centers and study programs for Environmental Humanities have been established in recent years. In Freiburg, too, the activities in this large field of research are to be bundled and further developed. The new research focus "Building and Researching Resilience in the Environmental Humanities" is now beginning its work at FRIAS. A first opportunity to get to know the Environmental Humanities and to jointly explore the possibilities of interdisciplinary research and teaching is offered by this round table discussion, which will focus on the following questions: Why is interdisciplinary research and teaching within the framework of Environmental Humanities worthwhile? How can such interdisciplinary cooperation in research and teaching be organized? Which successful models, research centers and study programs can we learn from? Which structures and conditions have proven to be helpful, which mistakes can be avoided?
