What are the roles and purposes of the humanities in the 21st century? What does it mean to be engaged in literary / critical / cultural theory? Which theories and approaches are being discussed, developed, and revised at the moment? How can our different fields inform these developments, and in turn be informed by them?
If you are interested in these and similar questions, we invite you to come along to the meetings of the LitCult Colloquium. The colloquium is a bi-weekly meeting group intended for an interdisciplinary discussion of theoretical texts concerning the position of the humanities in general and literary studies in particular in today’s academia and society at large.
All Fellows and members of the university are welcome to join us.
This term, meetings take place on Tuesdays at 2.15pm at FRIAS starting on April 25.
Upcoming meetings: July 11, July 25.
We will start by discussing the Introduction and the first chapter of Rita Felski’s The Limits of Critique. Please contact us if you have any further questions or would like to receive a copy of the text.
