Fabrication Platform for Configurable Nanosystem

NEMS in which multiple nano-scale functional building blocks made of a variety of nano-materials are integrated with MEMS becomes increasingly important as a key device for next generation. An assembly technique bridging the gap between nano-scale building block and micro-scale MEMS is expected to play an important role as a complementary approach for a top down approach and a bottom up approach to realize NEMS. In this presentation, a new assembly approach using DNA as a mechanical and functional material will be proposed as a fabrication platform to realize a configurable Nanosystem with preliminary experimental results using DNA as an intelligent adhesive.
