Linking strengths and expertise from Freiburg and Penn State University

Penn State Collaboration Development Program 2018

Penn State University and the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS) at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg are seeking proposals to foster collaborative, sustainable, self‐supporting research programs. The Collaboration Development Program has been created to provide seed monies to develop plans for long-term programs integrating faculty and junior researchers from both universities.

The joint call of the universities aims to strengthen the collaboration between researchers of the two universities and thus the strategic partnership between the two universities.

The universities welcome applications from joint Freiburg-PennState teams of excellent researchers. The call is open to all disciplines represented at the University of Freiburg and Penn State University. A total of three joint project groups can be funded for a duration of 12 months, starting in February 2018. The program supports research stays, joint conferences, virtual seminars, the invitation of international guest researchers and activities for younger researchers. The successful joint research groups will receive a budget of 25.000 € per group (equiv. 30.000 USD, in two equal budgets on each side).

Deadline for application is Sunday, November 05, 2017.
