Mathematics Day

FRIAS Fellows organised a Mathematics Day on March 13, 2018!

"This year, many Fellows at FRIAS work in mathematics. It quickly became clear that we sometimes know very little about the projects and work of the others. That is when the idea of Mathematics Day came about”, says Annette Huber-Klawitter, initiator of the event. Since October 2017, she is a Principal Investigator in the FRIAS research focus Cohomology in Algebraic Geometry and Representation Theory, together with Stefan Kebekus and Wolfgang Soergel.

Mathematics dayAlthough mathematics is a common ground of their work, the fellows' research projects diverge greatly. The Mathematics Day was a great initiative to strengthen the exchange of the research groups and fellows. In addition to the FRIAS fellows, doctoral candidates and students participated in the event. In short lectures, the fellows presented their research projects and engaged in discussions with the other experts.
