Low and negative interest rates - risks and challenges for insurance companies
The pension is safe ! This phrase from Norbert Blüm in the mid 80s has become one of the biggest challenges of insurance companies nowadays - how to guarantee pension and, more importantly, in which height is a paramount challenge in the current regime with lowest and even negative interest rates. How could pension be achieved at low cost ? This certainly requires investing in stock markets and asks for an intertwining of financial and insurance methodologies which poses a big challenge both for scientific research and practice.
