Does Pipeline Choice affect the reliability of spike data from Intracranial recordings?

An important challenge of neuroscience research and future brain machine interfacing is the reliable assignment of spikes to putative neurons. “How we can assign each spikes in a signal that recorded by means of microelectrode technology to the related neurons reliably and consistently”. To succeed this issue, lots of methods have been offered for spike detection. However, despite all these studies / researches, the criteria that will eliminate the inconsistency and prevent human error on methods have not been determined. To focus on this issue, preliminary results of several easy event detection schemes on one data set will be presented, meant to illustrate the inconsistencies arising from different processing pipelines already in its initial step.
