Max Planck Research Award 2015 for long-term FRIAS Fellow Prof. Hans Joas
Long-term FRIAS Fellow Prof. Dr. Hans Joas, honorary professor at the theological faculty of the Humboldt University Berlin, together with Prof. Brian S. Turner, professor for Sociology at the University of Chicago, has received the prestigious Max Planck Research Award 2015.

On August 27, Yasmin Fahimi, secretary-general of the German Social Democratic Party (SPD), visited FRIAS together with her colleagues Gabi Rolland, member of the legislative assembly of Baden Württemberg, and Gernot Erler, member of the Federal Parliament (Bundestag).
New Research Areas and Groups in the Academic Year 2015/16
In the new Academic Year FRIAS will host a broad spectrum of research projects, ranging from cell biology via chemistry and the neurosciences to toxicology in the natural and life sciences and medicine, and from history via linguistics and literary studies to law and religious studies in the humanities and social sciences, to name just the most strongly represented disciplines.
