Interaction of humans and intelligent social robots

Social robots are developed these days to take on a variety of roles in people’s lives: from companions to assistants in healthcare. The way that people relate to these robots is different from how they relate to other technological devices. In this talk, I will argue that understanding these differences in a context-based manner is key to designing successful interactions. I will examine different types of intelligences that the robots are expected to have, with an emphasis on social robots to be used in rehabilitation.
