The conference is intended to bring together epidemiologists and biostatisticians for enabling translation of existing statistical tools into application, to identify areas where epidemiologic methods are still missing but highly desired, and to foster interdisciplinary collaborations. Topics of this conference include: (i) bias avoidable by appropriate analysis; (ii) bias from missing covariate measurements; (iii) bias due to design: population and sampling; (iv) bias from lacking outcome ascertainment in follow-up. The conference will start with a Keynote Lecture given by Jerry Lawless on Wednesday, Sept 21 at 6pm, will be followed by a Welcome Reception, and will close on Friday, Sept 23, at 5pm. Attendants presenting their ongoing research will have time to present and extensively discuss their projects. Research presentations and discussions will be complemented by a preceding R tutorial on Wednesday, Sept 21, afternoon.
