Multidisciplinary Analysis of New Impersonations in Augmented Communication

The lecture explores the intricate dynamics of digital impersonation and its implications for our understanding of personhood in an age where technological advancements enable machines to closely emulate human behavior. It ambitiously spans across various domains — nature, society, and technology — to investigate mimicry and its multifaceted expressions, from biological imitation to the complexities of human impersonation and the digital frontiers of AI, deepfakes, and holograms. Through a transdisciplinary lens incorporating philosophy, psychology, theatre, AI studies, and law, the lecture aims at dissecting the evolving landscape of impersonation, challenging traditional notions of identity, authenticity, and the very essence of what it means to be human in a digitally augmented world.
