Hitchhiker's guide to pure mathematics
Whereas applied mathematics is often easier to "understand" by means of examples of applications, pure mathematics is more difficult to explain. The often seen approach to this part of mathematics is that of panic. The talk's stolen motto is "Don't panic". I plan to (try to) achieve this aim by explaining some examples related to algebra, geometry and topology.
