Adding the temporal scale to plant-animal mutualistic networks

Workshop

Ecological networks are snapshots of who interacts with whom in ecological communities. This snapshot approach was useful as a starting point and led to important insights about the way interactions are structured in communities. However, most communities have a strong temporal structure, and ignoring it may lead to incorrect conclusions. With the availability of temporally explicit data, there is a growing interest in adding a temporal dimension to the study of ecological networks that allows moving beyond the snapshot approach.

The workshop will bring together ecologists that have been active in the study of plant-animal mutualistic networks and/or conducted research aimed at incorporating the temporal scale to the study of ecological networks.
