The workshop wraps up five years of exploratory work during the years 2008-2013 at the FRIAS School of Soft Matter Research, and looks beyond toword topical challenges in the future. In this gathering of FRIAS Fellows and top level researchers from leading laboratories, research reports and keynote lectures will emphasize important aspects and contribute stimulating ideas that are believed to be of particular interest for the future of the field. Focal themes will include modeling and simulation, nanostructuring and self assembly, and will additionally cover applications of soft matter systems in physics, chemistry, engineering and biology. Throughout the four day workshop there will be ample time for discussions after presentations and during breaks. Special social events will provide further opportunities to network and to intensify discourse.
