Scattering theory provides a unified framework for our perception of the world around us, from the smallest to the largest scales. "Scattering Systems with Complex Dynamics" is the theme of the DFG research unit FOR760, which collects key expertise in photonics, (ultra-) cold matter and Rydberg physics, semiclassics, and quantum scattering theory. This workshop, organized by FOR760, offers three intense, one week lecture courses on ultracold atoms in engineered potentials, photonics, and quantum graphs. The lectures, which will follow a steep learning curve, address motivated students of physics or mathematics, approx. between the third year of studies and their PhD. The lecture program will be complemented by contributed talks, a poster session, and ample time for informal discussions.
Organization:
Gislinde Buehler and Susanne Bergmann
