From Graphite to Functionalized Graphenes and Advanced Materials
Functionalized graphenes represent a very versatile family of 2D carbon nano mate-rials with applications ranging from catalysis to novel advanced functional and struc-tural materials which are tailored to meet the highly diversified demands of modern technologies. The incorporation of graphenes into a polymer matrix affords new ma-terials with improved mechanical and electrical properties. These functionalized graphenes offer unique opportunities for modern polymeric ma-terials, surface coatings, 2D/3D printing, energy storage and conversion technolo-gies, bio responsive surfaces, sensors, actuators, and smart materials. This presen-tation will give an overview on carbon-based nanomaterials and their application in macromolecular sciences and engineering.
