Jie Bao
Zentrum für Biosystemanalyse
PhD Student with Junior Fellow Hauke Busch
Jie Bao holds a B.Sc. degree in Life Sciences from Fudan University in Shanghai, China. He then moved to Freiburg, Germany and completed his Diploma in Biology, during which he did internships at Sanofi-Aventis and the Blue Brain Project in Frankfurt, Germany and Lausanne, Switzerland respectively. Jie Bao’s diploma thesis deals with a data-driven approach to modeling the hippocampus. From 2009 on, he is a PhD student in the group of Dr. Hauke Busch, working on the computational model of cell communication.
In the group of Cell Control & Communication led by Dr. Hauke Busch, Jie Bao is working on reverse-engineering gene regulatory networks from time-resolved microarray data, which is expected to shed light on how the long-term cellular decisions are made.
