An Interdisciplinary Systems Biology Platform to Study Functional Protein Networks in Aging and Disease
Numerous studies of the past years indicate that an intricate intracellular network of interactions seems to control aging and is perturbed in age-related diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease. We hope to identify the individual components of this network, their interactions with distinct cellular pathways, and the consequences of mutational alterations that eventually result in disease. Here, we will present an interdisciplinary platform that can be partially automated to systematically combine the identification of protein interactions, substrate/kinase relationships and in vivo functional validations.
