Chemistry - The Language of Life
Life has evolved an intricate language based on chemical signals that are dynamically turned over. The study of such signals in a living cell is highly complicated given the complexity of the system. Light-mediated temporally and spatially resolved modulation of such signals allows us to manipulate the signalling state of single cells and ensembles. Such studies will ultimately help to unravel the chemistry behind functional cells.
