On Dwelling. Considerations concerning human life, buildings, and space.
I start with the assumption that human life as such can be characterized as a dwelling life and that it is thus different from the life of plants or animals. In a second step I try to elucidate what dwelling is in examining buildings, which I understand as manifestations of and conditions for dwelling. In doing so I want to clarify the spatial character of buildings, and this in order to show that dwelling should be conceived as spatial – not only as life in space, but as spatial life an eminent sense.
