Operationalization 2013. An Interdisciplinary Workshop at the Edge of Experimental Psychology and Analytical Philosophy
This workshop is being carried out by Henrik Singmann (Psychologie, Universität Freiburg), Dr. Marco Ragni (Kognitionswissenschaft, Universität Freiburg), Dr. Vincenzo Crupi (Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy, LMU München), and Dr. Jan Sprenger (Tilburg Center for Logic and Philosophy of Science, Tilburg University/NL) and is one of five sponsored FRIAS Junior Researcher Conferences which FRIAS is supporting in 2013.
The workshop is intended to bring together psychologists and philosophers in order to investigate questions of concept operationalization that are common to both disciplines, combining theoretical and empirical approaches and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations. Topics of this workshops will include e.g. human reasoning, theory confirmation, and explanatory power. The workshop will feature keynote speakers (Psychologists: Ulrike Hahn, London/UK & David Over, Durham/UK; Philosopher: Edouard Machery, Pittsburgh/US) and methodological tutorials on modern statistical approaches. Attendants presenting their planned experimental projects will have time to present and extensively discuss their projects.
