CV

Nils Spengler studied Microsystems Engineering from October 2004 until April 2010 at the department of Microsystems Engineering IMTEK at the University of Freiburg. In his diploma thesis, which was done at the lab of micro-optics, he worked on optofluidic iris apertures. During his studies, he was employed as a HiWi at the Fraunhofer IPM and the Fraunhofer ISE and did a 6-month internship at the MEMS facility of the Robert Bosch GmbH in Reutlingen. After graduation, he worked as a postgraduate research scholar at the Palo Alto Research Center PARC, which is located in the heart of Silicon Valley. Subsequently, he joined the Group of Prof. Korvink in May 2011, where he is now doing research on the analysis of biological samples using nuclear magnetic resonance. The project benefits from a strong collaboration between the group of Prof. Bruckner-Tuderman (Molecular Dermatology), the group of Prof. Hennig (Medical Physics) and the group of Prof. Wallrabe (MEMS Micro-Actuators).
