Cold and ultracold chemistry

This two-and-a-half-day conference aims to bring together experimentalists and theoreticians in the field of cold and ultracold chemistry in order to discuss recent developments and findings in this highly topical area of research. We invite the participation of researchers who are interested in the interaction of atoms, ions or molecules at low temperatures. Neighboring fields often apply different or even complementary methods such that a direct exchange of concepts and ideas is highly beneficial to everyone involved. We therefore want to put an emphasis on scientific discussions between participants.

Topics for such discussions and presentations can include, but are not limited to, the following subjects:

• Cold and ultracold collisions and reactions of atoms, molecules and ions

• Control of collisions in the quantum regime

• Production of cold and ultracold molecules and molecular ions

• Ultracold ground-state molecules

The conference is organized by the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS) at the University of Freiburg. We are committed to creating an accessible event. Please get in touch if you need assistance, e.g., sign language interpretation. We will try to realize the entire meeting as a face-to-face event, in accordance with the university regulations which can be found here: https://uni-freiburg.de/university/wp-content/uploads/sites/9/2020/10/Uni-Freiburg-SARS-HygieneO_EN.pdf. Currently, alert level II applies in Baden-Württemberg."

We were informed that the conference cannot be upheld as an in-person event in February. We have decided to realize the conference in an online format, with streamed talks and video-chatroom-like poster, lab tour and discussion sessions in order to foster an interactive environment. More updates will follow here and via e-mail. Conference fees will no longer apply.
