Cold and ultracold chemistry

This two-and-a-half-day conference aims to bring together experimentalists and theoreticians in the field of cold and ultracold chemistry in order to discuss recent developments and findings in this highly topical area of research. We invite the participation of researchers who are interested in the interaction of atoms, ions or molecules at low temperatures. Neighboring fields often apply different or even complementary methods such that a direct exchange of concepts and ideas is highly beneficial to everyone involved. We therefore want to put an emphasis on scientific discussions between participants.

Topics for such discussions and presentations can include, but are not limited to, the following subjects:

• Cold and ultracold collisions and reactions of atoms, molecules and ions

• Control of collisions in the quantum regime

• Production of cold and ultracold molecules and molecular ions

• Ultracold ground-state molecules

The conference is organized by the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS) at the University of Freiburg. We are committed to creating an accessible event. Please get in touch if you need assistance, e.g., sign language interpretation. We will try to realize the entire meeting as an in-person event, in accordance with the 3G regulations (participants will need to provide evidence that they are either tested for, vaccinated against or recovered from COVID-19).
