Opportunities to participate in events

Freiburger Horizonte - Heidegger 25FRIAS fellows offer diverse courses and lectures for the university’s students, who are also warmly welcome to attend the wide variety of academic events held at the Institute. The programme generally appeals to doctoral and master’s students as well as those students beginning to specialize in certain subject areas. It serves as a source of inspiration for their own work and gives them the opportunity to attend lectures held by eminent academics from other German universities and abroad. While students normally need to register to participate in smaller events such as colloquia and workshops, no registration is necessary for larger events like the Hermann Staudinger Lectures presented by Nobel laureates in the natural sciences.

FRIAS Lunch Lectures

In the summer term 2014, FRIAS has introduced a new lecture format. Every second Thursday, beginning on October 22, these lectures will take place in lecture hall HS 1015 in the Kollegiengebäude  I (KG I) from 12:15 - 1 p.m. The aim of this lecture series is to offer both undergraduate and graduate students and, essentially, everyone interested a first-hand account of the research projects of the current External Fellows at FRIAS.

FRIAS events

FRIAS’s events calendar contains information on all the events hosted by the Institute and indicates who may participate. Generally speaking, students are entitled to attend all events that are not marked as internal. Some events require participants to register with the respective point of contact named in the field next to the comments provided about the event.

Courses and lectures organised by FRIAS fellows

The current semester’s course catalogue provides information (under each individual subject area) about the courses and lectures organised by FRIAS fellows for the University of Freiburg’s students. Students can register for these as usual via the Campus Management System. An overview of the fellows currently conducting research at FRIAS is available here >>.
