Quantum Dissipation: Progress and Perspectives

Quantum systems commonly interact with an environment giving rise to dissipation and fluctuations. In view of the regularity of these phenomena the theory of quantum dissipative systems has become increasingly important in a continuously growing range of fields, comprising quantum optics, chemical physics, nanophysics to name a few. Recently, we have seen advances in the understanding of the interplay between quantum dissipation and quantum entanglement, quantum information and computation, but likewise new insights in far from equilibrium fluctuations, non-Markovian effects, or driven quantum systems have emerged.
The workshop intends to reflect the state-of-the-art of the theory of quantum dissipative systems and discuss challenges in view of new experimental techniques.
