Permeation mechanisms across biological membranes
Molecular dynamics simulation results of the permeation of water and solutes across aquaporin water channels, the rhesus channel Rh50, and the anion channel VDAC will be presented that allow an in depth insight into the mechanisms of specific membrane permeation. In addition, a putative mechanism of water and ion channel gating will be presented. Finally, the molecular dynamics of inhibitor binding to the water channel AQP9 will be demonstrated.
