CV

Monica Gonzalez-Marquez is ABD at Cornell University in Psychology. She is a member of Professor James Cutting's lab where she pursues research on the interaction between language, perception and spatial cognition. Her current work involves investigating the possible differences in the spatial abilities of monolinguals and bilinguals. In addition, she is the general organizer of the biannual Empirical Methods in Cognitive Linguistics workshops. She is head editor with Irene Mittleberg, Seana Coulson and Michael Spivey of the volume, Methods in Cognitive Linguistics (2007, John Benjamins). During her stay in Freiburg, Ms. Gonzalez-Marquez will be working with Dr. Martin Hilpert while conducting research for her dissertation.
